We all have assumptions and thoughts about something. Or assumptions about new things we knew before. Oversimplied idea or image about a Certain Group of People that is widely accepted by other is sterotypes. Maybe some of you also have a different notion of a tribe. I have a notion about the Borneo people. My story begins with my cousin brother.
My cousin worked as a policeman. He served in Borneo. Initially, the family is not willing and can not bear to let go of my cousins to work away from their parents, let alone far beyond the island. But for the sake of duty a policeman, must be prepared under any circumstances to carry out the task, and with heavy hearts the family off my cousin's departure.
2 years later, my cousin brother has a fiancee. His fiancee comes from borneo. Initially the family does not agree, we assume that the man was impressed borneo people loud, irreverent, and certainly many things that are not in accordance with Javanese culture.
Despite opposition from the family, my cousin did not give up and not flinch. He proved that his fiancee was good for him. Well that time the feast of Idul fitri 2003. My cousin introduced his fiancee and her parents to extended family.
They also stay for 1 week in java. Through these family gatherings, big families are a little more familiar with how borneo people actually. Although not everyone is equal, but at least families know who that person will be entered into a new family member.
The family has been supposed about borneo people not entirely true. Who thinks that all borneo people are black, behave less polite, and rampart. But it was different after knowing the fact that, not all borneo people is black, it was evident that his fiancee skinned white. They also act and said more gently than Javanesse, although by using Indonesian. They are also polite to older people, they seem less responsive and nimble. But overall the borneo have a good personality.

I would argue that stereotypes like we give a brand or stamp, to a person or a particular group with our own assumptions but which is strongly influenced by the information / gossip from the outside of the person / group, although it is not necessarily true .. there are Kalimantan people who think it's not all good.

but everyone in a different culture has a different characteristics of each people.,,
so, we have to respect each other, and just stay positive with everything we meet.. it start from ourselves and our surrounding.
